Visual Inspection Method for Glass Bottle and Glass Product Packaging Materials

I. Purpose

This method aims to establish standardized inspection criteria and defect classifications for packaging materials used in glass bottles and glass products.


II. Scope

The methodology outlined here applies comprehensively to the assessment of all glass bottles and glass products.


III. Instruments and Equipment

Utilize a standard light source lightbox with a D65 light source, or ensure a well-lit environment with ample fluorescent lighting in an office setting.


IV. Inspection Procedure

Preliminary Stage: Select 10 samples that are representative of the product to be tested.

Incoming Inspection Phase: Employ the typical single-sampling plan outlined in the GB/T 2828-2012 standard for the sampling process.

Conduct a visual comparison of the samples against standard samples, limit boards, and the illustrative examples provided in this method. Maintain a viewing distance of approximately 30cm for a duration of 30 seconds.

For record-keeping and reference, it is imperative to store all tested samples as well as the original comparison samples for a duration of 6 months following the completion of testing.
